Jami Templeton has been teaching for over 20 years in NYC, Los Angeles, and the Pacific Northwest.
As a teacher, Jami has worked with a variety of levels of students- from Grammy and Tony winners to talented beginners. Appearing at major opera houses and young artist programs, Carnegie Hall, Broadway, The Voice, jazz clubs, opening acts and background singers for superstars, as well as lead roles in high school musicals and community theater.
As a performer, Jami was awarded an encouragement award from the Metropolitan Opera, at the age of 20, and her career blossomed from there. She attended Manhattan School of Music, and the prestigious International Institute of Vocal Arts in Chiari Italy. She later studied under the creator of Speech Level Singing, Seth Riggs, who taught Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Faith Hill, Josh Groban, and more. In later years, Jami spent two years immersively studying jazz and under many living legends in NYC, and has been performing as a jazz vocalist for nearly a decade. Her debut jazz album spent several weeks on the jazz charts in the US, and reached number 7 on college radio jazz charts in Canada. It was also featured on the CBC, and many stations internationally. Jami also completed Level 1 training of Somatic Voicework™ the LoVetri Method with pioneer voice teacher, Jeanette LoVetri.
She is currently taking new students by referral only.
