I started voice lessons with Jami in high school and she was absolutely wonderful in preparing me for the voice degree I pursued in college at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory. The only teacher in our town that could teach classical, pop, musical theater, country, rock, you name it. Jami invests so much of her time and energy into her students. She started a studio class where we could learn how to work with and treat an accompanist and prepare our music, she had us out in the community singing at events, she came out to our high school shows and solo ensemble competitions (even when they were hours away). She would take any opportunity to support her students and share with them the knowledge she had (if you were interested in opera- starting a class where you'd learn about an opera a week and discuss it; taking me to a recording studio to record my pre-screening pieces for collage and showing me that side of the world of music, encouraging and preparing her students to prepare for summer programs, Disney programs, anything they showed interest in, she'd run with it). Jami is an amazing vocal coach and vocal teacher. And now, years later after 15 year old me walked into her studio, I can say Jami is also a wonderful and inspirational mentor and friend. I would highly recommend her!!

Jami was my first teacher ever at 15 years old. I had my mind set on pursuing musical theater, but she urged me to try out classical art song and nurtured a love for opera I didn't know I had! Jami taught me to sing healthily and without imitating an "older" sound than I had at the time, while also providing "how to" guidance on the singer life (i.e., audition attire, how to market yourself, how to be confident in your own abilities). I am now a senior in college and will receive my Bachelor of Music in Voice and Opera Performance from Northwestern University at the end of this school year, and plan on pursuing opera in grad school next year. If Jami hadn't initially heard opera in my voice and encouraged me to pursue it, I don't know that I would be on this path today!

Jami is an incredible coach, she knows how to lift your confidence along with your voice, and is always a pleasure to talk to. Lessons with Jami are always something to look forward to!

Jami is a truly marvelous vocal coaching instructor. She helped my daughter truly explore her potential as a singer, setting the bar at just the right height and helping her work hard to achieve it. She mentors her students, sees them as individuals, and supports their growing belief in themselves.
